About

Donaven Crenshaw

I build free software that reduces tedious work while keeping people close to their data and decisions. My current work connects accessible communication, local-first tools, and creative technology.

BetterFingers began as an accessibility-driven voice workflow for communicating across applications. That origin still matters: the person using the software should remain in control of what it hears, writes, reviews, and sends.

underplain is the main home for that mission and BetterFingers is its leading public release. Infinite Ages remains the creative branch for games, tabletop systems, storytelling, and entertainment.

I do not want polished language to conceal incomplete proof. Product status, limitations, build notes, and the next piece of evidence belong beside the promise.

Working principles

The practical commitments behind the projects.

Diagnose first

I want to understand the actual system problem before proposing software.

Keep ownership visible

Local operation, understandable limits, and freedom from unnecessary subscriptions matter when they fit the problem.

Show the unfinished parts

A current status is more useful than a confident claim that the evidence cannot support.
