What your support pays for

Art, music and sound for the games. The new game ideas I'm trying out. And sometimes, honestly, just the Red Bull in my hand while I build.

Shipped lately: Stardust with a weekly time trial, ghosts, a ship garage with real flight stats, leaderboards, friend challenges, shareable result cards and Dogfight rooms; the Kingdoms & Caravans friend playtest; BetterFingers Alpha 3.

Next: the next Stardust weekly track, and more polish on the free software.

The monthly goal: about $45. Roughly $40 of that is code-signing, so Windows trusts the free installers, and about $5 is the power for the old laptop that runs the hub (accounts, leaderboards and the weekly boards). Anything beyond it goes to the art, music and sound above. If it never gets there, nothing here gets paywalled.

Everything stays free to play. Support never buys an advantage, a cosmetic or early access.

Primary recurring support

Support helps fund free-software polishing, releases, compute, hosting, signing, testing, server infrastructure, and other project needs. Funding is project-based and does not guarantee a date or a particular release.

One-time support and future merch

Ko-fi is available for one-time support. It may also be used for future merch if and when real products exist; no merch inventory, reward, shipping schedule, or eligibility is promised here.

The Discord is the community home for players, playtesters and followers. Read the Discord rules before you join. Support buys no perks there either: no supporter roles, no private channels.

Support levels

  • $5 a month — a simple recurring way to keep the work going. You get the Sponsor badge on your GitHub profile.
  • $10 one time — a one-off thank-you. You get a mention in a release’s notes.
  • $25 a month — helps cover the steady work of testing, documentation and releases. Your name or logo goes in a project README.
  • $100 a month — helps provide room for focused development and infrastructure. Your name or logo goes on this website.

These are the amounts GitHub Sponsors offers, and the recognition above is all that comes with them. Recognition is a thank-you, not ownership or control: it changes nothing about what anyone can play, use or access. There is no voting mechanic on this page. A contribution does not buy roadmap authority, a guaranteed feature, a deadline, or a private product edition.

Community development votes are open to all accounts when I open a poll. Each account gets one equal vote, regardless of support.

Support should remain useful even when no extra perk exists.

  • Keep it SFW. No adult content.
  • Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply on top of these.

Moderation

  • No harassment, no hate. Zero tolerance.
  • No spam. Self-promo goes in the designated channel and nowhere else.
  • The owner's calls are final.
